General information

The Symposium on Molecular Spectroscopy in Japan started in 2001. The initial aim was to create a symposium where young scientists including graduate and undergraduate students can present oral presentation. Since then the symposium kept the tradition to have only one oral session so that all the attendees can concentrate on it. We started a session where young scientists presents their results in English, however, most of the talks are given in Japanese..
The symposium's main topic has been molecular spectroscopy with somewhat emphasis on high-resolution spectroscopy. However, the following topics are also covered and welcomed.
In recent symposium, about 30 to 40 contributed papers as well as two invited talks are presented in two days.
  • Reaction dynamics
  • Quantum chemistry
  • Interstellar spectra
  • Atmospheric processes
  • Development of new spectroscopy techniques
This symposium is supported by the Spectroscopical Society of Japan.
