1研究紹介
 神経ペプチドは,ヒトや動物の体内各所で様々な制御機能を担っています。今日,生体成分の極微量分析法など新技術の開発発展に伴い,未知の神経ペプチド類が次々と発見されています。神経ペプチドに関する研究は,学際複合領域である神経科学において益々重要になってきました。私たちは神経ペプチドの分析方法を工学部や企業の研究者らと共に開発しつつ,比較神経内分泌学的観点から下等脊椎動物の神経ペプチド,特に摂食行動を調節する脳ペプチドの探索,同定,体内分布,遺伝子発現および生理機能に関する研究を行っています。また,理学部を中心とした「恒常性維持のニューロン情報ネットワーク」プロジェクト研究の主宰や「環境要因と生物応答システムの解析」プロジェクト研究および医学部を中心とした高次脳機能解析プロジェクト研究に参画して,動物の食欲を制御する脳機構の解明を目指した研究を行っています。さらには,昭和大,北里大,九州大,国立循環器病センター研,早稲田大,奈良医大,Tulane University (USA), University of Rouen (France) などとの国内外共同研究を展開して,本能行動の低次脳機能解析や個体間情報伝達に関与するペプチドフェロモンに関する研究を行っています。[現在進めている脳ペプチドによる摂食行動の脳制御機構に関する研究概要はこちら]
